Privacy Policy for Oakie's Box Bonanza

Last Updated: July 22, 2026

Oakie's Box Bonanza ("the game") is a browser game developed by Carrie on Accessibility. It does not use any backend service at all — everything happens locally, in your own browser.

Summary

Oakie's Box Bonanza does not collect, transmit, or store any information anywhere except your own device. There's no account, no sign-in, no server, and no leaderboard.

What Is Stored, and Where

The game uses your browser's localStorage — a small amount of storage built into your browser, tied to your device and browser only — to remember:

None of this ever leaves your device. It is never sent to us, to Carrie on Accessibility, or to any third party.

Text-to-Speech

Oakie's Box Bonanza uses your browser's built-in speech synthesis (the Web Speech API) to read the story, choices, and quiz questions aloud. This runs entirely within your browser using voices already installed on your device or provided by your browser — no audio or text is sent to us as part of this feature.

The Restart Password

The Restart Game option in Settings is protected by a small set of fixed words, intended as a parent or teacher gate so a child doesn't accidentally erase a day's progress — it is not a security feature and isn't meant to protect sensitive information, since none is ever collected in the first place.

What We Don't Do

Your Control Over Your Data

You can start a brand new adventure at any time using the Restart Game option in Settings. Clearing your browser's site data for this page will also remove all saved settings and progress.

Children's Privacy

Oakie's Box Bonanza was designed with young players in mind and collects no personal information from anyone, of any age.
